Student Helping in Thanksgiving Food Drive

Thanksgiving Food Drive Held to Provide Holiday Meals to Families in Need

The UIW School of Professional Studies and the Ettling Center of Civic Leadership and Sustainability collaborated to organize a food drive for UIW students and community members in need. The drive was successful, collecting over 500 canned food items and infant supplies. All the donations were put together to distribute 12 bags and 15 baskets of canned food goods to UIW students and their families for them to enjoy on Thanksgiving. The UIW SPS and the Ettling Center will host another food drive from December 1 through January 12 to help more families in need during the holiday season.

The Triple Helix model is a workforce development program in UIW’s School of Professional Studies which is dedicated to developing a skilled workforce based on partnerships among government, higher education and industry.

She always wanted “the hat,” – the tam doctoral candidates wear as they graduate and earn their degrees. On Saturday, May 6, Jessica Parra finally achieved her dream. The director of Student Services for UIW’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) crossed the stage and became Dr. Jessica Parra, finally earning her Doctor of Business Administration degree from UIW’s SPS program.
