Doctor of Business Administration
The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree builds on the knowledge and skills of students who have completed master’s level study in business and business-related disciplines. The DBA creates scholar-practitioners who are able to provide meaningful contributions to the advancement of business research and practice.
Features and Benefits
The program incorporates a blended delivery approach utilizing technology and face-to-face instruction to create a combination of synchronous and asynchronous pedagogy. Or students may choose to attend in an online-only format. The supervised culminating experience of not less than nine credit hours will result in the production of either a Peer-Reviewed Publication, Conference Presentation or Work-Based Project.
The supervised Culminating Experience totals nine credit hours, completed over a minimum of three semesters (three credit hours per semester). Classes are offered in either 8-week or 16-week formats. Each semester, students produce one scholarly deliverable: a peer-reviewed publication, a conference presentation, or a work-based project. Across the three semesters, students must complete at least two different types of deliverables, so they may not complete three publications, three presentations, or three work-based projects. To qualify for the DBA degree, students must successfully complete the full program of study in the degree plan, including the Culminating Experience.
At this time, DBA cannot admit international students in the F-1/J-1 student visa categories. However, the DBA can be completed entirely online and is open to students worldwide.
Outcomes
The D.B.A. Program objectives are to create graduates who will:
- Develop innovative principles and practices in business operations and management.
- Conduct research for solving problems, making decisions and communicating results and recommendations.
- Use technology efficiently and effectively to achieve organizational and professional goals.
- Employ ethical leadership capabilities to solve a variety of complex domestic and global issues.
- Communicate effectively in diverse environments by aligning audience, medium and message.
