Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences
The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences is designed for students who are ready to prepare for a career in the healthcare field or to move up to a senior leadership position if the student is a healthcare professional. Students can select from two tracks. The first is the administrative track. This track is designed to prepare students in specific administrative and certified allied healthcare careers. The second is the general track. The general track is specifically designed for the working allied healthcare provider who may have earned a recognizable certification and/or completed military training.

This degree provides the option to sit for the following nationally accredited certifications:
- Cardiac Rhythm Analysis Technician
- Certified Billing and Coding Specialist
- Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist
- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant
Completion of the core classes will satisfy the minimum certification examination requirements. Certified testing centers not affiliated with UIW will offer the exam and award the certification upon successful completion.
Receive credit for prior training experience
Students who have 18 or more credits in the allied health field or appropriate military training can transfer their credits into this degree program to fulfill the general studies concentration.

Allied Health Hours (18 qualifying hours minimum)
The General/Military track is designed for the working allied healthcare practitioner who may have previously earned a recognizable specialty certification and/or completed military training and experience but desires an associate degree.
Courses consist of transfer college work or appropriate military experience credit in an area of allied health science. Consult with your academic adviser to determine if you have qualifying courses.
Elective Coursework
Elective courses will be selected to complete the 120-hour requirement for the degree as needed. Check with your Academic Advisor to check on your total hour count.
