Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist
The Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) training course will prepare you to successfully pass the National Healthcareer Association exam and directly enter the field of healthcare. The program includes a well-blended mix of classroom, audio-visual presentation and a shadow experience.
Electronic Health Records Specialists have an expansive range of opportunities for employment. The skills learned through the NHA CEHRS certification are essential to hospitals, physician offices, surgery centers, nursing homes, dental offices, home healthcare agencies, mental health facilities and even insurance companies and consulting firms.
We realize work, life and family obligations can sometimes prevent you from attending educational opportunities. With that in mind, we have tailored the program to fit the busy schedules required by family life and work. The CEHRS program offers students both theoretical and practical training through hands-on experience. This program prepares you to take the Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist examination through NHA.
Learn the following skills:
- Audit patient records for compliance
- Abstract clinical information for reports
- Perform basic coding to submit reimbursement claims
- Process Release of Information (ROI) requests for medical records
- Review patient records to ensure completion and accuracy
- Collect patient demographic and insurance information
- Discuss patient information with physicians and insurance professionals
Shadow Experience
In addition to 72 hours in the classroom and homework study time, students are eligible to complete a shadow experience which serves as working experience and a reference for future employment.

To maintain a low teacher-student ratio, seating is limited. We will be accept 20 applicants into this program.

Cost
The total cost for this course is $4,200.
The cost includes all live instruction, and all materials to include the CEHRS exam and a shadow experience to eligible students. Our courses offer financial assistance in Sallie Mae loan, payment plans, and MyCAA.
