Dr. Garza received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Information Systems from The University of the Incarnate Word. She received her Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in E-Commerce and Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Her dissertation focus was on mentor leadership styles and protégé career advancement.

Dr. Garza has taught a variety of courses at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels, both on-line and on-ground. Her teaching focus is in Leadership, Organizational Development, Business and Research.
Dr. Garza also collaborates with McGraw Hill publishing, specifically in developing interactive case exercises for business textbooks. Dr. Garza is also actively researching the effectiveness of non-profit and privately funded programs on veteran employment and recruitment efforts (joint effort with work colleagues). Other research interests include: Gender issues, leadership/followership, and mentorship/sponsorship.
Dr. Garza has an extensive corporate background working for large San Antonio based companies as well as for a global company as a Director of Program Development collaborating on the development of graduate programs for Latin American Universities.
