The School of Professional Studies at the University of the Incarnate Word selects uniquely-qualified providers to deliver exciting opportunities for those interested in beginning a new career. We have partnered with Career Educational Services to offer interested students the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant training program. We have tailored the CCMA program to fit the busy schedules of students with career, life and family obligations.
This course is designed to prepare students to successfully pass the National Healthcareer Association exam and to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program offers our students both theoretical and practical training through hands-on experience. The duration of the course is sixteen (16) weeks and includes preparation for the certification examination administered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). In addition to 96 hours in the classroom, and homework study time, our students are eligible to complete an 80-clock-hour externship experience. The externship serves as working experience, as well as a reference for future employment. Students are also eligible to take exams to have certifications as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and EKG Technician (CET) after the course is complete.
This 16-week program will prepare you for a career in the exciting field of Medical Assisting.
The program fee includes all live instruction, labs, scrub set and all materials to include CCMA certification exam (if taken) and an externship (if eligible).
