Adjunct faculty who wish to teach for the School of Professional Studies (SPS) must possess a Masters degree from an accredited university and 18 hours in the discipline in which they intend to teach. Master's courses require faculty who possess a Doctorate or be terminally degreed.
Faculty are hired on a term to term basis. SPS has six 8-week terms throughout the year, which means not all courses are offered each term.
Candidates applications are reviewed by the Dean and interviews are done as they are needed to fill positions. After being interviewed, qualified candidates are placed on a list of eligibility. This list is reviewed each round of hiring (usually 8-10 weeks prior to the beginning of a term) by the Center Directors.
For consideration, please visit the Human Resource Office and complete an application. Submit your application, a cover letter, resume and/or vitae, and transcripts from the school(s) in which you have earned your degrees to the SPS Adjunct Faculty ad. Candidates will not be interviewed until all three items are received.
For those looking for other employment in the School of Professional Studies or the University, please review job openings and submit an application to the Human Resource Office.
