Common Professional Components (CPC)
Students entering the School of Professional Studies MBA program may not have all the necessary prerequisite courses, or as we call them Common Professional Components (CPC), to begin taking classes. The solution to this dilemma is a set of self-paced courses that will bring you to the level of knowledge necessary to enter the MBA courses. The School of Professional Studies at the University of the Incarnate Word selected a uniquely-qualified provider, Ivy Software, to deliver the CPC courses online - at just $150 per course. A fraction of the cost of attending the full semester course.
To register, contact your academic advisor and determine which CPCs you may need. Pay the $150 per course through our online payment center and information will be sent to your Cardinal email address to get you started. Upon receiving registration confirmation, students will have access to the CPC course for up to twelve months for completion. Please allow two business days to receive the CPC access email.

Each chapter takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete. This includes reading the text and completing the interactive software. Student background may determine the completion time of each module.
When the course is completed, the student will need to successfully complete a 40 question randomly generated comprehensive online final exam over the chapters discussed in the CPC course. Students must pass the finale exam with a score of 80% or above, students are given 3 attempts to pass the exam. Students will need to take the course if they are not able to pass the exam.
